PCOs and Public Health, June 8, 2000

The fact that Bug Off Pest Control Center provided public health training for the New York City Department of Health and for the New York City Parks Department created great interest in the pest control community for us to present an abridged version of this special training program for pest control operators.

The symposium dealt with federal and state regulations regarding basic principles and practices. We reviewed application equipment, pesticide use and IPM techniques. The major pests that impact human health were studied in detail, particularly mosquitoes. An overview of the principal diseases transmitted by these pests was also presented.
