If you can pass this course, you can pass the State Exam!
Our Graduates are employed by large pest control companies and government agencies while others have established their own successful businesses.
Students must be at least 16 years old to participate in this course. This course consists of classroom lectures, homework assignments and two exams. A minimum grade of 70 and attendance at all 5 sessions is required for passing. Students who pass will receive a certificate which will allow them to take the state exams.
Our next course begins Saturday, April 5, 2008. We encourage you to enroll soon so you don't miss out. Our training hall is located on West 183rd Street off Broadway in Northern Manhattan. Exact address will be provided when you register.
The cost for the full course is $369.00.This fee includes the training manuals. There are no additional charges. Individual recertification sessions for PCOs are $80.00.

SESSION 1: Saturday, April 5, 2008 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Introduction: Legal aspects of pest control (Federal, State, Local). I.P.M. and fundamental pest control methods. Pesticides: general classification, modes of action, formulation categories. Credits: Core - 6.0
SESSION 2: Saturday, April 12, 2008 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Pesticides: Label and MSDS interpretation and toxicity. Use of application equipment and mixing instructions. Hazards and safety considerations in pest control. Credits: Core - 6.0
SESSION 3: Saturday, April 19, 2008 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Arthropods: general classification and structure. Insects: general classification, structure and life cycle. Roaches: importance, biology, control. Mosquitoes and Flies: importance, biology, control. Mid-term exam. Credits: Core - 1.0; 7A - 4.0; 7F - 4.0; 8 - 5.0; 10 - 5.0
SESSION 4: Saturday, May 3, 2008 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Stored product and fabric pests. Parasitic Arthropods: bedbugs, fleas, ticks, lice, mites. Stinging and biting insects: bees, spiders, wasps. Occasional invaders: ants, silverfish, crickets, centipedes, etc. Wood-destroying pests: termites, carpenter ants, beetles, bees. Credits: 7A - 4.0; 7B - 1.0; 7C - 3.0; 7F - 3.0; 8 - 2.50; 10 - 6.0
SESSION 5: Saturday, May 10, 2008 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Domestic rodents. Miscellaneous vertebrate pests: bats, moles, squirrels, rabbits, birds, snakes. Ornamental and turf pest control. Final exam. Credits: 3A - 2.0; 3B - 1.0; 7A - 5.0; 7F - 4.0; 8 - 4.0; 10 - 6.0
